REFLECTIONS OF 2017
Where do I even begin..... 2017 was one of the blurriest years of my life to date but DAMN was it one hell of a ride. I began the year in Bali with my favourite people on this earth and it just kept getting better and better from there onwards. It was a year of saying yes and immense growth and I couldn't be happier with what I have achieved in the past 12 months.
2017 taught me A LOT of life lessons. It definitely tested my strength many, many times and allowed me to find my voice, strength and happiness. I mean don't get me wrong, yes, it was an epic year but was it easy....? HELL NO. If theres one thing that I can say I took out of 2017 its that "you fall down seven times and get up eight."
I finally decided to be who I wanted to be, do what I wanted to do and for the first time in my ENTIRE life I have been able to be 100% myself without a single care in the world. And god it feels good.
Once you stop living your life for other people and get on with what you want to do - thats when life really begins. Sounds cliché I know, but don't knock it till you try it.
This absolute rollercoaster of a year hasn't stopped twisting and turning without giving me a second to catch my breath or look back and reflect. But since i'm already a week deep into 2018 I felt the need to address this past year, my growth and how grateful and blessed I am currently feeling with life right now.
At the start of this year, I knew it was going to be a year of change. My 2016/2017 NYE resolutions were; to live in the moment more, say "yes" to more opportunities and give my dreams a proper go.... I can happily say, looking back, that I have achieved my resolutions and by doing so opened the door to so many new and countless opportunities. Ive smashed goal after goal and even with some major set backs I've continuously pushed through and evolved. In saying this, its not all on me - I am blessed to have had an amazing support system this year and I honestly wouldn't be where I am in life right now if it wasn't for them, being there for me every single step of the way.
My parents are my biggest support system and have been with me through almost every decision I have made and have allowed me to feel confident and proud of myself. My siblings have been my little cheer squad, always lifting me up whenever Im feel down and reminding of how much further I have to go. My epic friends inspire me to lift my game every. single. day. and keep me craving the next life adventure.
Having such a good support system was key this year, and I've never felt more blessed with the group of people that I have in my life right now. You definitely grow with the people you surround yourself with, so surround yourself with likeminded, positive, motivated and happy people and sure enough thats what you will become (#deep - i know, but trust me, its true).
